Town of Navan

A pleasant undulating country at the meeting of the two rivers Boyne and Blackwater, Navan is the county town of Meath. It possesses a recently developed industry based on mineral deposits. This town is at present one of the major centres for furniture manufacturing in Meath. Even if Navan is an antique town, it was brought to the public attraction only as a palatine town of the English settlers. This town was protected by walls and forts by Hugh de Lacy, and turned out to be an outpost in the defences of the Pale. Legal documents and partnerships were made possible by the English Kings fron the 17th centaury onwards. Tennis, horse riding, greyhound racing and angling were some of the engagements in Navan.
